Thomas W. Hoffman

Thomas W. Hoffman (July 21, 1839 – April 18, 1905) was a Union Army soldier in the American Civil War who received the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor.〔
Hoffman was born in Berrysburg, Pennsylvania on July 21, 1839. He was awarded the Medal of Honor, for extraordinary heroism shown on April 2, 1865, while serving as a Captain with Company A, 208th Pennsylvania Infantry, at Petersburg, Virginia. His Medal of Honor was issued on July 19, 1895.〔
He died at the age of 65, on April 18, 1905, and was buried at Pomfret Manor Cemetery the in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.
